Hanceville, AL -- Hoover trailed by seven points at the half but took a 27-26 lead on a Deontaye Curtis basket with 4:55 left in the third quarter.


Boys Basketball: Hoover 74, Tuscaloosa Co 40

Birmingham, AL -- Brannon Defore scored 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Class 6A, No. 5 Hoover (29-4) over Tuscaloosa County to advance to the next round of the state playoffs. Quamauri Hardy also scored 15 points, while Kaleb Baugh scored 10 points, to go along with 11 rebounds.

Birmingham, AL -- Brannon DeFore finished with 15 points and 10 rebounds and Quamauri Hardy scored 12 points as fifth-ranked Hoover edged Minor at home in the Class 6A, Area 14 final.

Birmingham, AL -- Quamauri Hardy scored 10 of his 17 points in the fourth quarter, as Class 6A, No. 5 Hoover (27-4) held off Hueytown in the Area 14 semifinals. Brannon DeFore also had a big night with 10 points, 10 rebounds, eight steals, and two blocks for the Bucs.

Birmingham, AL -- Hardy finished with 18 points for Hoover despite not scoring in the fourth quarter. Leonard Wood had 11 and Brannon DeFore added 10 points.
